We Wish You A Merry Christmas on You Tube
Jason just took up guitar lesson a month ago and learned how to play this song from Internet.
He is indeed a faster learner. He has also learned to play a few of his favourite songs and he should be posting them to You Tube too.
He is actually learning calssical guitar at Yamaha Music school in Tampines Mall on Sundays.
Please leave your comments here or in You Tube to support and encourage him to excel further in his performance.
Merry Christmas and Best Wishes again.....!

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year...!
We will be taking a short holiday in Japan during this festive season ( were in Korea last Xmas ).
Somehow I have been very busy since beginning of Dec with family matters, mostly, and they are my priority, of course. I have also slack a bit in my blog posting too but will make up for it in 2008 so do not stop visitng my blog.
This is the best time of the year as irrespective of race or religion, we all tend to soak into the festivities so please have a good break before another challenging yer in 2008.
Best wishes!
David, Lai Meng & Jason Poh....not to mention Jack & Ruby too ( our Beagle and Corgi dogs!)
Qi Kong Meditation
I just completed my lessons in Qi Kong meditation, conducted by my TMC doctor.
It was an interesting experience and some similarities to the breathing meditation I learned in a Thai Buddhist temple here. Also, similar to Western approach to stress management that has been reported in the papers and talks.
This meditation is focus on breathing techniques that exercise the organs in our bodies, backed by ancient Chinese medicinal practices.
In the last class, one of the participants shared with us that she has heart palpitations and is on medication ( though it does not help much ) but it disappeared after she learned the meditation eventhough she has not been constantly practicing it. So believe it or not but then it is not a miracle as our body reacts differently; ie it does not mean that you ailments will be cured after the classes.
Well, I believe I have made a wise investment in learning this exercise and hope that my constantly ( still not very disciplined yet..! ) practice of this meditation will help prevent unforseen illness as I grow old gracefully.
If you like to know more or even keen to take this class, email me for the details as there is another new class starting very soon. I am invited back to join this class for revision in Jan 2008.
BTW, I just repeated my colonoscopy and no growth since my last one in Oct 2006 ( where 3 growth were removed and 2 were cancerous ). As such, next colonoscopy will be in 5 years. Do not be misled, I am not claiming that the meditation helps as I just started it recently only.
Take care!
Jason Playing the Guitar
Jason has started classical guitar lessons at Yamaha school recently. Initially, wanted to learn the drums but I suggested that the guitar is more portable and he can play a tune on his own.
He also managed to get some guidnaces from YOU Tube too and able to learn a few of his favourite songs by watching it. I am impressed. When he is ready, we will be making a video and posting it to YOU Tube too so stay tuned.
Jason back from his guitar lesson, he looked 'cool' ..... The guitar bag is very helpful and he is the only one in class to bring his own guitar though a few of them also bought one too.

Qi Kong Meditation
I am now learning Qi Kong meditation from my TCM doctor who treated my left knee recently.
So far, 2 lessons and 3 more to go....
This is for health reasons and I have decided to invest in my health now than later in the years when all sort of sickness come along.
Hopefully, some sort of foundation building leading to prevention of unforeseen illness.
The basis of this Qi Kong meditation is from ancient Chinese medicinal practices, unlike Kung Fu or religious stle of meditation but similar, I suppose.
It focus on some breathing techniques similar to that I learned from Chit Sieng ( ex-OUB boss ) ay a Tahi temple, Yoga meditation and Western de-stress technique.
However, I suppose you must believe in it else no point to pursue it.
So far, I am happy with what I have learned.
Have a nice day!

Results are not too bad either; A1 for both Maths, A2 for Science & B3 for English, Geography, History + Literature.
He really studied hard for his exam. this round. Did not go out for dinner and even skipped his TV programmes too during the exam. period. First time tht we saw him so panicky....ha...ha.....or rather that focus on his exam.
We are always there for him and he knows it.
Proud of you, darling!

Mother-in-law 80th Birthday
Free IT Consultancy
Recently, I have quite busy going shopping with friends to buy IT gadgets like PC or notebooks , MS-Office 2007 at Funan IT mall or Sim Lim Square.
I also managed to rescue 2 notebooks, from a friend family, from virus attack and malware too a few weeks ago.
I keep up with the latest IT gadgets trends and news through local magazines and Internet newsletter.
I also just bought a notebook for my elder sister this morning after shopping around for the past weeks for her needs, and now setting it up for her ; ie virus scan , make a set of recovery discs, etc......
So if you need any assistance, drop me an email and I will see if I can help you too ....
I can give you some advice or steer you to the right direction and the final decision is yours on what you want to buy.
I do not get any commission from the sellers if I do recommend them to you.
Just a hobby of mine and I enjoyed it too....
So do not be shy to seek my help as I may seriously charge you the next time round.....ha..ha...
Maybe a cup of coffee for a start!

Movie at GV Gold Vivocity
I was lucky to have gotten a pair of GV Gold movie tickets recently.
My dear wife n I went to see Resident Evil - The Last Stand yesterday as all the movies were NC16 so Jason could not use them with his buddy.
If the tickets were not FOC, each one cost S$25.00!!!
So what do you get?
The hall is small and lesser seats but the seats are very comfortable; wide and can be inclined to any angle you like, with the leg rest raised too. A blanket is also provided.
On top of that, you can order food from a menu but it is not cheap, of course.
We bought the usual popcorn n drink from the counter before we entered the GV Gold lounge.
It was almost full and mainly foreigners or expats(?).... or are they also winners of the GV Gold tickets like us?
If there is a special occassion like birthday, wedding anniversary,.... it may be worth the occassion else it is a bit too expensive, I think.
Well, at least I have tried it for free.........
Take care!

Taking A Break
Hi,
I am taking a few months break from work to spend some time with my parents in Penang and my family too.
The care group that I was taking care of in Temasek Polytechnic, made a 'Thank you' card and the FBI diploma cohort gave me a photo frame too.
I plan to work as a part-time Lecturer in 2Q 2008.
My family & I will be in Penang around mid-Nov to visit my parents.
Regards,
Poh CW
