Dim Sum Dollies - The History of Singapore
We saw their performance on Wed evening and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I laughed until I cried and I think the attendance that evening was even better than Beauty World, which we saw in Jan 2008 ( not saying that Beauty World is not good in comparison ).
As it was based on the history of Singapore and also recent events locally like Integrated Resort (IR) and F1, we can easily associate with it and the fun made of it.
Jason also enjoyed it though he seems doubtful initially. He is taking History instead of Geography so we urged him to see it with us as it should help him in his studies.
For those of you who missed it, try to catch them the next time round and I bet you will not regret it. Also, please support your local performers.
I am now looking forward to the next concert, We Will Rock You, in early April 2008.

Never Too Old To Learn New Stuff
Jason was studying for his Social Study test last evening and asked me to do a mock test on him before we slept.
The 2 main topics being tested this morning are Conflicts in Northern Ireland and Conflicts in Sri Lanka.
You know what?
I have been reading news about the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka and IRA in UK but I have never looked deep into the causes of their conflicts.
Well, after last night session with Jas, I am now more aware of why the Tamils & Singhalese are fighting with each other. Similarly, for the Protestants and Catholics in UK.
So I think I have learned more than I could have helped Jason in his preparation for his test.
Or we actually killed 2 birds with one stone as the saying goes.....; ie in that short period of time, I learned something and he got his revision done with my help.
Ahhhh...... I am a bit more wiser today and never too old to acquire new knowledge....

The Dog, The Cat & The Rat
It is a great video and if only we humans, irrespective of race, religion, nationalities, etc.... can get along and tolerate each other more these days; the world will be more peaceful and happier today.

4th Day of Chinese New Year
I am still wearing red but my dear wife in gold. Jas was in black though, more acceptable these days?
---------
So what did we do on 3rd day of CNY?
Well, Jason started having his tuitions again in the morning and in the evening, but he managed to get a few friends together and played street soccer in the late afternoon.
Anyway, back to school tomorrow for Jason.
Lai Meng is still on leave so maybe we will do some post CNY shopping.....ha...ha...ha...

A Very Happy & Properous Chinese Rat Year !
Reunion Lunch for 2008 Chinese New Year
It was 'lo hei' followed by a steamboat lunch at my mother-in-law home.
We arranged one with a catering company too a few years back, for practical reasons.
But this is the first time we have it earlier.
So how is your reunion dinner? Drop me a comment....
